The Ojai Rancho Inn is where I like to stay for a quick and cool getaway in Ojai. I had the opportunity to cozy up at my homies Kenny Osehan Kenny & Chris Sewell's amazing spot courtesy of Potek Winery, who invited me out to experience an intimate dinner on the property. Ojai is an easy hour and a half drive out of Los Angeles which makes for the perfect semi-local vacation. This elevated motel is part of Shelter Social Club, a collection of properties aimed at "creating experiences & spaces that bring community together."
If you're like me and appreciate unique lodging, you'll vibe with the Ojai Rancho Inn, especially since their pool is looking better than ever! Each room has maintained much of its old-school Ojai charm, with new additions such as lighting fixtures, artwork and all the palo santo you need to foster new vibrations. There are also hot tubs in each room which make for the perfect chill sesh or turn up. Pro Tip: bring your own bubbles!
The Ojai Rancho Inn feels like its very own community and I appreciate that. In addition to having Linus Bikes available for guests to explore the surrounding neighborhood, the motel also has a bar on its property which is open to both guests and the public. I had the opportunity to pull up a stool at Chief's Peak to find out what it was all about. The beautiful and incredibly warm bartender Ariane whipped us up some refreshing shrub cocktails while she told us about their wall full of cups. Each year the motel sells a limited edition of ceramic mugs to the public which are then labeled with their name, and each time you visit, you pull it off the wall and enjoy yourself a drink! The cocktails were superb. This is the kind of place you come when you want to make a friendship stronger, romance your boo, or to check the fuck out. I cannot wait to return to one of my favorite places in Ojai later this year.
