Nestled amidst the scenic vineyards and charming streets of Healdsburg, California, Troubadour Bread & Bistro stands as a beacon for food enthusiasts seeking artisanal provisions. During my recent trip to this charming bakery, I was impressed by their unique selection of sandwiches, and I was truly amazed by the exceptional quality of the bread on which they were prepared. One casual lunch at Troubadour left me feeling completely inspired by the culinary scene of Sonoma County and I cannot wait to return.

As you walk into this stylishly cozy bakery, the inviting aroma of freshly baked bread wafts through the air, drawing you in like a siren's call. Troubadour is serious when it comes to bread and I appreciate any busy that is dedicated to their craft. The menu offers an array of mouthwatering options, from classic deli-style sandwiches to inventive creations that showcase the bakery's artisanal bread at its finest. On my visit, I decided to indulge in their Turkey Pesto ($17) sandwich, which promised a delectable blend of roasted turkey, gruyere, and a special house-made aioli, all nestled between two slices of their signature Levain bread. My husband selected the special du jour, Wagyu Roast Beef ($18), made with bone marrow mayo, dijon, maitake, pickles, arugula, extra virgin olive oil, salt, and pepper. Although I don’t usually care for roast beef sandwiches, after one bite, I questioned whether my distaste was warranted. Clearly, I hadn’t experienced a sandwich like this before. The savory bone marrow mayo was a true revelation!
