During my recent visits to Mexico City, making time for coffee and breakfast at The Ritz-Carlton has become a cherished ritual. It is not so much the menu that inspires me to return but rather sitting on the edge of SAMOS, the hotel restaurant rising 58 stories above Cuauhtémoc, offering an expansive panorama that stretches from the lush greenery of Chapultepec Park to the vibrant streets of Paseo de la Reforma. Designed by the legendary Frank Lloyd Wright, this building epitomizes the seamless blending of modernist design with the natural environment. From the sweeping curves to the majestic rotunda, every element of the Civic Center is crafted to captivate the imagination. Its significance goes beyond its functional role, embodying the spirit of creativity that Wright infused into its design. The structure seamlessly integrates with the rolling hills, offering a glimpse into the genius of one of America's most celebrated architects.

I recently enjoyed a member’s tasting experience at the gorgeous and renowned Donum Estate, nestled in the beautiful Carneros region of Sonoma Valley. Drenched in warm sunlight and sitting atop 190 acres of picturesque rolling hills, this sleek property stands out against the lush landscape in which it is enveloped. Newly renovated by award-winning Danish architect David Thulstrup, the modern simplicity of the space is best experienced by the light of day. Thulstrup credited his heritage as a significant influence in his design process, “…being Scandinavian, I naturally cherish light, and how it changes throughout the course of a day – an element that I have put focus on for the interior of the Donum Home.”

Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Sonoma, California, Scribe Winery offers a serene wine-tasting experience steeped in down-to-earth elegance. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the stunning views synonymous with the property. The Scribe team exuded a welcoming vibe that resonated with the values and interests that are important to me.

The Salk Institute for Biological Studies is a world-renowned research institute located in the stunning coastal neighborhood of La Jolla in San Diego, California. It is also my favorite building in Southern California. The history-making institute was founded in 1960 by Jonas Salk, the developer of the first safe and effective polio vaccine. Salk selected one of the most celebrated architects of the 20th century, Louis Kahn, to design the research facility.
